I have worn hearing aids for over 20 years, and was defiantly deaf, hard of hearing, for many years before that. In fact I have had problems with my ears from childhood. The doctors diagnosed me with Menieres Syndrome, symptoms were vertigo, tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and deafness. God healed me of the vertigo symptoms some years ago. I do not take, or need, daily medication for it now. My hearing was gradually getting worse. I could not hear well even with hearing aids. I would lip read most of what I heard, even with hearing aids if someone covered their mouth I could not ‘hear’ them. I decided to make an appointment with an audiologist to see if I needed new hearing aids or discover what else might be happening.
One morning I said to the Lord: ‘I’m sorry Lord, how do You feel about me going to the audiologist?’ Note the sequence, I didn’t ask Him first, and here’s me encouraging everyone to be Holy Spirit led! He immediately answered: ‘Cancel the appointment and I will heal you’. It took me a day or two to make sure it wasn’t my wishful thinking, but what had I to lose? I cancelled the appointment. God has already set everything in place for our healing, all we need to do is to draw on His loving provision. The prayer of faith saves the sick. Most of the people Jesus prayed for were chronically ill, some from birth, some were possessed of demons, others dead. The woman with the issue of blood had spent all she had on doctors and was still not healed. She reached out, the virtue of God’s healing power went from Jesus into her and she was healed. Jesus played no conscious part in that miracle, He knew virtue had gone from Him, but He did not know to whom, as He said it was her faith in Him that made her whole. I would just say that we support doctors, they do valuable work. We would not try to persuade you to stop medication or treatment until after God heals you. There are ‘rules’ around healing, forgiveness is one of the most important. It is also important to understand the basis for covenant promises, when God says: ‘if you do this, I will do that’. It you do not do ‘this’ God will not do ‘that’. Don’t expect the blessing until you fulfil your part to release it.
I went to Fiskerton on Saturday, as usual. I recounted the events and what the Lord told me and asked for prayer. I took out my hearing aids, holy hands were laid on me and the prayer of faith was spoken. The muffled sensation in my ears went and the tinnitus reduced significantly. I had already decided that I would not put my hearing aids back in my ears. It is no good praying for healing and then acting as though nothing has happened. If prayer has been spoken, the spiritual situation has changed. Prayer is not just words, if they are words of faith spoken in the name of Jesus, they are spiritual missiles of light fired into the kingdom of darkness destroying strongholds.
My hearing was better but not perfect. I knew God had healed me and it would improve. A week later I could hear as well without hearing aids as I had heard with them, before the deterioration that prompted my appointment with the audiologist. Three weeks later, I can now hear better than that. The sound volume on my car music stream is set as it was for when I wore hearing aids and I can hear it perfectly without them. I can hear the indicator ticking on my car. I can hear birds! My fear was that lip reading would take over, but you cannot lip read a radio! Tinnitus comes and goes, it will go. I command it to go in the name of Jesus, God has healed me.
Thank you Jesus, the stripes You took for us at the whipping post were for our healing. Jesus claimed healing for us as an integral part of our salvation. We were praying recently for a man who had been chronically ill for many years. He could only shuffle his feet, he could not walk properly. While we were praying the Lord gave me a word of knowledge. He told me to tell him that he must not look at how long he had been ill, God would heal him in the twinkling of an eye. That man walked properly out of the meeting claiming his healing. We had a lady and her husband come to the meeting some time ago, they sat on the back row. The Lord told me to get her up to testify toward the end of the meeting. She came forward and told us she had had a stroke which had left her with brain fog, she could not order her thoughts to even put a sentence together. That day God had completely healed her as she sat in her seat and she was able to think and speak normally for the first time in nine months. Salvation, healing, and deliverance happen regularly. We stand on the promises of God, we preach the gospel Jesus preached and the signs He promised follow. It is not us, it is God. If you doubt or are ashamed of the gospel of Christ, I say to you what Jesus told John the Baptist when doubt filled his heart in prison, ‘The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in Me’ (Matthew 11:5-6). He is still the same: what a mighty Saviour, what a glorious God. God loves us because He loves us!
