God’s word is fixed and unyielding

Then came he out of the land of the Chaldaeans, and dwelt in Charran: and from thence, when his father was dead, he removed him into this land, wherein ye now dwell. And he gave him none inheritance in it, no, not so much as to set his foot on: yet he promised that he would give it to him for a possession, and to his seed after him, when as yet he had no child (Acts 7:4-5).

Charran was an ancient city of great wealth and influence, Abram was not a poor refugee but an ambassador of God sent to establish a land, a home set apart for His people. We seek a kingdom of the Spirit, with a place reserved for each of those that trust in the name of Jesus and all that is manifest in His name, those whom He has made temples of the living God. In our Father’s house are many dwelling places for His Spirit that he has entrusted us to and whom we trust to reveal Christ in us, the hope of glory. Abram was not given any of the land for an inheritance it was for his seed and the seed that followed them. It is the Holy Land reserved for God and His people. The land that Jesus will return to and reign over the whole earth, from that Holy City Jerusalem, until heaven and earth pass away and God’s plan is made complete with the New Heaven and the New Earth and the New Jerusalem. No longer of the corrupted earth but born again in the Spirit. All of Abram’s walk with God was through faith in Him and His promises. It was no more than His word but God’s word is immutable, unchanged, fixed and unyielding. If God has said it we can rely on it, it will not fail. And so we stand on His Word, the Holy Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, our feet on the Rock Christ Jesus and as long as we stand on that Rock, unmoved with the deceits of satan, we live and walk and have our being in the Holy Spirit of the Living God, that Spirit of Truth that flows from the mouth of God like a river (Matthew 4:4; John 15:26).
