Seek God while He may be found

So Jacob went down into Egypt, and died, he, and our fathers, And were carried over into Sychem, and laid in the sepulchre that Abraham bought for a sum of money of the sons of Emmor the father of Sychem. But when the time of the promise drew nigh, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt, Till another king arose, which knew not Joseph (Acts 7:15-18).

God confirmed to Israel in dreams that it was His will that Jacob should move all of His people to Egypt ‘for I will there make of thee a great nation’ (Genesis 46:3). God promised to go with them. Pharaoh welcomed them and gave Joseph permission to give them the best land in Egypt and they settled in Rameses where Joseph fed them with Egypt’s bread. Pharaoh even asked Joseph to make those that had the ability rulers over his cattle. Israel was 130 years old and he blessed Pharaoh with the blessing of God.  Joseph made Pharaoh great wealth as he took payment in whatever the Egyptians could offer to trade for food. Israel knew he was dying and, as was the tradition of those days, brought his sons together, the twelve patriarchs of Israel, to bless them. See, Joseph rescued Israel from evil, as God had rescued him, and Israel blessed Joseph’s younger son Ephraim over the elder to make him doubly fruitful and draw them both into the kingdom through Joseph. Joshua gave Joseph’s children, a double portion of Israel. God had promised Jacob that Israel would become a great nation in Egypt, but He also prophesied to Abraham that Israel would be exiled to Egypt for 400 years and suffer there. When Pharaoh died another came in his place that would not favour Israel nor Joseph. Envy and fear drive men to evil and fearful acts but God had limited this to a time, there was an end to it. Everything that happens to God’s people is for a purpose and to an expected end. Hardship and tribulation bring us to seeking God, hunger and thirst are found in the wilderness, spiritual brethren use this time for a time of seeking for a time of going deeper into God, for He is God and a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him. Jeremiah 29:11-13.
