Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit (Ephesians 2:19-22).
Having established the sonship and inheritance of every born again believer, Paul now speaks of unity. Christ is the keystone that holds it all together, our foundation is the fulfilled promises of God, that God sounded out through His prophets, manifest on the earth through Christ our Saviour and confirmed through the ministry of the Apostles. The promise of a Saviour Redeemer who sets us free into the glorious liberty of the children of God. The building is made up of every born again believer, the mortar is the Holy Spirit. We cannot be more united than a building, every part in its proper place, supporting those around them. Start knocking bricks out and the building will fall. satan sows factions and dissent, we must discern the spirits to see if they be of God. Purify our thoughts and reign in our tongue. Some justify their dissent with law and doctrine, but satan has got in to divide and take the power from the Church. Daniel 11:32. Stand fast, having done all stand, put on the armour of God and stand. Unity is the fruit of love: 1 John 4:7 – Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
