For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished (1 Corinthians 15:16-18).
I saw something on the internet, someone posted I know and regard well. There was an immediate witness of truth in it. As always I started to investigate the scripture to confirm it. I looked in Strongs Greek Dictionary, a different word; so I looked in Mounce’s Greek Dictionary, the same word as Strongs. I began to think it may not be correct. Then I was led to the KJV Greek Interlinear Bible and there it was, the word had been confirmed. Corinth was a pagan place, these brethren had not been raised on the Torah and the prophets, they were born again through the anointed preaching of the gospel and the power and demonstration of the Holy Spirit working in them. satan sent ‘doctrine’ from religious men to mislead them, to strike at the very foundation of God’s great gospel. Is that not what he did to Eve? ‘Hath God said’ (Genesis 3:1), when doubt comes against the proclaimed word of God we stand in the truth of His word, verified in the scripture. It is easy to seek to be right, the difficulty comes in seeking truth. Be prepared to change your mind to comply with the scripture, not man’s interpretation of it, but the unerring word of God. Make sure though that you have a Bible version that is a word for word literal translation of the ancient manuscripts (KJV, NKJV, NASB, AMP), not an interpretation of them. The Holy Spirit will lead you into all truth, ask Him to reveal the truth to you: the Word and the Spirit working together as in the beginning (Genesis 1:1-3). We are in darkness, the Spirit starts to draw us to Him, God speaks His Word, gospel, and light fills us. Keep it simple: God loves us, died for us and is risen again, sin and death are defeated. God is for us. Wholly trust Him.
