If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable (1 Corinthians 15:19).
We so much need to understand that we who are born again, born of the Spirit, are no longer of the flesh but of the Spirit. We have been translated into the Kingdom, the government, of the dear Son of our Father’s love. We are no longer under satan’s government, bound in sin, fastened hard to mortality and death. ‘It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life’ (John 6:63). We are no longer a bag of bones ruled with the infirmity of our feelings, we are spiritual beings in a temple sanctified with God’s presence, so great is the change. The resurrection is as essential as the virgin birth and death of Christ, for without one we are still in sin and without the other we are still in the death of the flesh. Resurrection begins at salvation, we must abandon our reliance on our instincts and live in the faith of the Son of God. We seek a city made without hands, reserved in heaven for us, Mount Sion, the city of the living God. We are of the general assembly and church of the first born, which are written in heaven, just men made perfect, sprinkled with the Blood of Jesus, the more excellent sacrifice, that cancels sin and raises us into the mighty power of God’s great love, expressed in Christ. Eat of His flesh, drink of His blood, the divine nature of God Himself, surrendered for our salvation, for our resurrection from death to life. The words that our Emmanuel speaks, through the Holy Spirit, they are indeed Spirit and life, the kingdom of heaven is at hand, He has carried us right into God’s holy presence. Love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all.
