And at the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch. And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them. And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.) (Acts 5:12-14).
Solomon’s porch was the ancient part of the original Temple left intact when the Babylonians destroyed the rest. We would call this revival but this is the Church of the Risen Christ in action. They did not compromise with the world, they had their eyes firmly fixed on Jesus and that common vision brought them into unity with one another and oneness with God. They lived and walked in the Spirit. They did not witness the odd miracle here and there, such was the power of God upon them that many signs and wonders were done to those who came to them. Because of what had happened to Ananias and Sapphira the glory and gifts of God within them were held in reverence and awe and no-one would attach themselves to them out of vain desire. The anointing, the power and presence of the Holy Spirit, must have been so powerful among them, times when no man would speak for they knew they were on holy ground, standing in the manifest presence of God, times when the power of God swept through the crowds and many came under the conviction of the Holy Spirit, the Father drawing them to the feet of Jesus. See they were believers, not doubters, added to the Lord, not a denomination to be educated into a man’s idea of how God should be, but changed in the love and power of our Lord God Jehovah and His Son the Risen Christ Jesus. An innumerable company of people, they came in great crowds to witness the glory of God. Do it again Lord Jesus, please, set your people free into the glorious liberty of the children of God. Matthew 5:6. John 6:35-58, Jesus is our daily spiritual diet, that we may be consumed of His divine nature until we are like Him, filled to overflowing with Him, fully immersed in God, we become what we partake of in the Spirit.
